LAHAT Foundation is the charity behind Our Safe Place and School Kids. Raising funds for families in crisis, and school kids at risk.
It began when our founders became foster carers.
Opening their home to children who needed stability showed them where support matters most: a safe place to land, and a reason to stay at school.
Why one foundation runs two initiatives
LAHAT Foundation began the way a lot of giving does: quietly, and close to home. Our founders became foster carers, opening their family to children who needed stability they couldn’t find elsewhere. It taught them more than they expected, and it showed them two things at once: how much children affected by domestic violence need a genuine safe place, and how much a child’s future can change once someone shows them that school is a door, not a dead end.
Two lessons, one instinct. A small amount of consistent support, aimed at the right moment, can change where a life goes.
Our logo is two hands holding a flame of hope: one for families finding a safe place, one for kids finding their way at school.
Rather than run two separate operations from scratch, LAHAT Foundation exists as the single registered charity behind both: Our Safe Place, funding domestic violence shelters and support services, and School Kids, funding schools and education support programs. One foundation, one set of governance and accountability, two causes that came from the same experience.
Where the funds we raise are granted
LAHAT Foundation doesn’t work with families directly. We raise money publicly and grant it to established organisations already doing this work, then report back on where it went.
Our Safe Place
Funds trusted domestic violence shelters and support organisations, so women and children escaping violence have somewhere safe to go, and the ongoing support to rebuild.
School Kids
Funds schools and education support programs helping kids facing hardship stay engaged and stay enrolled, so a tough home situation doesn’t have to mean a shorter future.

Funds are granted to established DV shelters, support services, schools and education programs: the specialists with the expertise and relationships already in place.

As grants are made, we report on where funds went and what they helped achieve. It’s accountability that grows as our track record does.
